Procedure:

Casting the Cubes:

Curing:

The concrete cubes are allowed to cure in a controlled environment, usually at a temperature of 27 ± 2 degrees Celsius and with a relative humidity of at least 90%. 

This process allows the concrete to harden and develop its strength. 

The cubes are typically cured for 24 hours before being removed from the molds and submerged in water until shortly before testing. 

Testing:

After the curing period, the cubes are dried and their surfaces are smoothed to ensure a uniform load distribution. 

The cubes are then placed in a compression testing machine, which gradually applies a load until the cube fails. 

The maximum load at which the cube fails is recorded, and the compressive strength is calculated by dividing the load by the cube’s cross-sectional area.
